CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Fall Virtual Accolades 2022

YAM Productions would like to recognize stellar virtual work from the past 21-22 year throughout the virtual theatre world! The landscape of theatre has been changed by this pandemic, and artists have found many ways to create when in-person wasn't an option.

We want to recognize you!

These aren't awards. There is nothing to win or lose. This is a chance to give an extra shout out to some amazing work you have seen in the past year. All virtual or streamed productions (musical or not) are eligible for shout outs. Give as many shout outs as you like! We're all about some virtual flowers and ovations for a job well done.

How can you give a public shout out for a job well done? Just send in a submission (or more than one!) on this Google Form by October 9 at midnight.

We know that virtual theatre can be a great way to experience theatre and that some really cool things have come out of it. We also know that YAM is not a large company with a wide reach just yet, but we are committed to bolstering a positive theatrical community, particularly in our Northern Virginia area. (We are not limiting shout outs to physical location, only to streaming and virtual work.)

We know that art is personal and that performances can be fleeting, but we also know that our virtual artists don't get the rush of energy from a full house buzzing on the other side of the curtain or the big laughs and shocked gasps and thunderous applause. Our performers and technicians and more prepare their work and send it out into the universe/internet, and sometimes they don't always get the feedback and accolades they would get if an audience could rush up to them right after the curtain falls. But that makes their work no less tremendous. This is a space to rush up to your favorite performers (and writers and directors and more) and to let them know how wonderful their work is.
