The year 2022 was a busy year. Head YAM Bri's life was full of family and the middle school drama club she sponsored, which meant we didn't have a full production, but we didn't sit around all year!
The launching of this website and the YAMMER ON blog brought us closer to our goal of fostering positive experience, fellowship, and good will in the Northern Virginia theatre community. It's still new and a little sparse, but I hope we can continue to use this space to build each other up. We hope to start including more reviews of local theatre. (Would you be interested in writing short reviews of local shows--especially musical and/or virtual? Feel free to send an e-mail to Bri at yamproductions.director@gmail.com.)
YAM is also excited to acknowledge the fantastic work of virtual artists from the past year in the Virtual 2022 Accolades. Submissions are still open until 11:59pm on Saturday December 17. Soon after we will share these fantastic accolades with the public to celebrate the wonderful work of our virtual artists who deserve to be recognized just like in-person artists.
This year we publish our second winter holiday song: Jingle Bells! This year we had the great fortune of gathering seven different YAMs together to make music in person. It was a nice treat after not making music together in a year.
In the next year, we hope to return to full productions and bring in some other fun events and activities. It's too early to say too much, but you can be sure we will be sharing all in the info on our social media.
We wish you a very happy holiday season. Stay warm, and happy new year!
